The University of Dayton yearbooks, entitled The Daytonian since 1923, document each school year's activities and student body. Through text and pictures, the yearbooks preserve the history of academic, athletic, and social life at UD for over 100 years.
This digital collection is being scanned from the yearbooks held in the University Archives, which begin in 1905 and continue to the present with a few gaps. The earliest publications are small illustrated albums that cover the years 1905, 1906, 1907 and 1912 and use a prior school name, St. Mary's Institute. The traditional yearbook format was used from 1922 forward, except for years in which it was not published (1929, 1932-1934 and 1944) and years in which only short volumes highlighting the graduating class appeared under different titles (1930, 1931 and 1945). Our effort to scan the entire yearbook collection is ongoing.
